About Happy Living Interiors
6 questionsIs the initial consultation truly free? Is there any obligation?
Completely free, no strings attached. Our design lead visits your home, takes measurements, listens to your requirements, and shares preliminary design ideas and a budget range — all at no charge. There is zero pressure or commitment required from your side. You proceed only when you are 100% satisfied with the design and quotation.
How long has Happy Living Interiors been in business?
Happy Living Interiors was founded in Hyderabad in 2009 — that's over 15 years of continuous operation. We've completed 500+ interior projects across Hyderabad's finest gated communities, earning a 4.9-star Google rating across 135 verified client reviews. 90% of our projects come directly from client referrals — our most meaningful measure of trust.
Do you use in-house staff or do you sub-contract work out?
100% in-house team. Every carpenter, electrician, painter, false ceiling specialist, and installation expert is on our direct payroll — not contracted out to third parties. This is a significant difference from most interior companies and is what gives us consistent quality, tight coordination, and full accountability on every project. When something goes wrong on-site, there is no "blame the sub-contractor" — we own it and fix it.
Where are your offices? Can I visit a studio?
We have two locations in Hyderabad:
- Design Studio — Gachibowli: 2nd Floor, Rajpurohit Tower, Khajaguda–Nanakramguda Road, Gachibowli, Hyderabad 500032. Open Mon–Sat, 9AM–7PM.
- Happy Living Hub — Tellapur: Our flagship multi-zone furniture and experience destination featuring Damro Furniture, Hettich Experience Centre, International Imports, and a Model Interior Flat. Open daily 10AM–8PM.
Do you do commercial or office interiors too?
Yes. While our primary focus is residential interior design — apartments, villas, independent houses — we also take on commercial projects including offices, retail spaces, and hospitality interiors. Reach out to us with your requirement and our team will assess the scope and share a proposal.
What does "90% referral rate" actually mean?
It means that 9 out of every 10 new clients who come to us are referred by an existing client — a friend, family member, colleague, or neighbour who experienced our work firsthand. We don't advertise heavily or rely on discount offers to attract clients. Our business grows because clients are genuinely happy enough to recommend us to people they care about. It's the strongest validation we know of.

Do I get 3D designs before committing to the project?
We create detailed 3D visualizations of every room once you signup and before any work begins. You see the kitchen layout, wardrobe design, living room arrangement, bedroom furniture placement, false ceiling design, and lighting plan — all in photorealistic 3D — before you approve a single item. This is completely free and included in every project. We don't start production until you've reviewed and approved every room.
Can I make design changes after the 3D design is shared?
Yes — that's exactly what the revision rounds are for. Each package includes a defined number of design revision rounds (3 for Rental and Premium, 4 for Luxury, 6 for Ultra Luxury). Once production has begun, structural changes to layouts or dimensions become more complex. Minor changes to finishes or hardware can usually be accommodated during early production. We encourage you to be thorough during the design phase — our designers will ask every important question upfront so nothing is left ambiguous.
What should I have ready before the designer's site visit?
Nothing special is required. If you have the flat's floor plan (builder drawing), that's helpful — but our designer will take all measurements on-site regardless. The most useful things to bring to the conversation are: your rough budget range, a sense of the style you like (modern, classic, contemporary, luxury), and any images from Instagram, Pinterest, or our website that you've bookmarked. The more context you share, the better the first design iteration will be.
Who is my single point of contact during the project?
Every project gets a dedicated Project Manager who owns your project from booking to handover. This is the person you call for updates, questions, or concerns at any stage — 9AM to 7PM, six days a week. You will also work with a Design Lead during the design phase. Both roles are full-time Happy Living staff — you won't be passed between departments or have to repeat your brief to different people.
Can I just get one room done — like only the kitchen or only a wardrobe?
Absolutely. There is no minimum project size. We're happy to execute a single modular kitchen, a set of wardrobes, a TV unit, or any individual element. Many clients start with one room and return to us for the rest of the home — often because they want to see the quality firsthand before committing to a full project. Our per-room and per-unit pricing is fully transparent.
Packages & Pricing
6 questionsWhat are the 4 packages and what do they cost?
- Rental Package — ₹13–14L: False ceiling, full modular kitchen (granite), small TV unit, crockery & shoe rack, 600 sft/rft woodwork, 5 profile doors, 3 design revisions.

Full package comparison at happylivinginteriors.com/packages
What is NOT included in these packages?
The standard packages do not include:
- Custom loose furniture — sofas, beds, dining tables (available separately at Happy Living Hub, Tellapur)
- Major civil structural changes (wall breaking, beam work, major replumbing)
- Electrical load upgrades beyond interior scope
- Curtains, loose decor, plants, and accessories
- Home automation systems (available as a paid add-on)
- Sink, faucet, chimney, and kitchen appliances
Can I upgrade individual items within a package?
Yes — packages are a starting base, not a rigid box. You can upgrade any individual element (e.g. add Duco finish to a Premium package, or upgrade the countertop from granite to quartz) with clear per-unit pricing for the add-on. You can also downsize elements to stay within budget. Your designer will present all options with exact costs during the quotation phase.
Why don't you give a simple "per sqft" price like other companies?
Per-sqft pricing sounds simple but is fundamentally misleading — it hides what's actually included. A ₹1,200/sqft quote from one company and ₹1,500/sqft from another could be completely different in scope — one might include false ceiling, the other might not; one might use BWR/P ply, another might use commercial board. Our approach is to give you a clearly defined package where every inclusion is named, every material is specified, and every unit is listed. You know exactly what you're buying before you sign anything. That's transparent pricing.
Is the material quality the same across all 4 packages?
Yes — identical material quality across all packages. Whether you choose the Rental or Ultra Luxury package, you get the same ISI-certified BWR/P grade plywood, the same Hettich or Hafele hardware, and the same premium laminate brands. The packages differ in scope (how much woodwork, which finishes, how many units) — not in material quality. A Rental package client gets the same lasting durability as an Ultra Luxury client.
Which package is right for me — how do I choose?
A simple guide:
- If the property is going on rent or you want functional quality without elaborate finishes → Rental Package
- If it's your first home and you want a personal, well-rounded interior → Premium Package
- If you want premium finishes that make every room feel extraordinary — Duco, veneer, feature wall → Luxury Package (most recommended)
- If you want absolutely everything at the highest level of detail, with Aristo doors and maximum coverage → Ultra Luxury
Modular Kitchen Design
6 questionsWhat exactly is included in the "full modular kitchen" in every package?
Every Happy Living package includes a complete modular kitchen:
- Base units (lower carcasses + shutters) — custom-sized to your kitchen dimensions
- Wall-hung units (upper cabinets)
- Loft unit above refrigerator space
- Drawer units and pull-out systems
- All Hettich or Hafele hinges, channels, handles and fitting hardware
- Countertop — granite in Rental/Premium, quartz in Luxury/Ultra Luxury
- Your choice of laminate finish from our full collection
How much does a modular kitchen cost if I only want the kitchen done?
A standalone modular kitchen from Happy Living Interiors starts at ₹1,49,999 for a standard parallel kitchen. The exact price depends on the kitchen size (in running feet), number of base and wall units, countertop material, shutter finish, and hardware choices. An L-shaped or U-shaped kitchen will be priced accordingly. We'll give you a complete itemized quote after measuring your kitchen on-site — free of charge.
What kitchen layouts do you design — L-shape, U-shape, parallel, island?
We design and execute all kitchen configurations:
- Straight / Single-wall — for smaller, compact kitchens
- Parallel (Gallery) — two facing rows, great for long narrow kitchens
- L-Shape — the most common layout in Hyderabad apartments, efficient use of corner space
- U-Shape — maximum storage, ideal for medium-to-large kitchens
- Island — for open-plan homes with sufficient space; often combined with L or U-shape
What shutter finish options are available for the kitchen?
We offer a wide range of kitchen shutter finishes:
- Laminate — most popular, wide range of colours and textures, durable and easy to clean (all packages)
- Duco / PU Paint — smooth high-gloss or matte painted finish on MDF, premium appearance (Luxury and Ultra Luxury packages)
- Acrylic — high-gloss mirror-like finish, easy maintenance, vibrant colours (add-on for any package)
- Veneer — real wood veneer for a warm, natural look, usually used as an accent with laminate or Duco (Luxury and above)
- PVC membrane press — good budget option for rental properties
What is the difference between granite and quartz countertops?
Granite (included in Rental and Premium packages): Natural stone, heat-resistant, porous (requires sealing), slight variation in pattern, excellent durability. Very popular and proven in Indian kitchens.
Quartz (included in Luxury and Ultra Luxury packages): Engineered stone — harder than granite, non-porous (doesn't need sealing), consistent colour and pattern, stain and scratch resistant, requires minimal maintenance. Generally considered a more premium and lower-maintenance countertop choice.
Both are excellent choices. Quartz is increasingly preferred for high-usage kitchens and clients who want a more refined, contemporary look.

How do I maintain a modular kitchen properly?
- Wipe spills immediately — especially oil, water, and acidic liquids — to prevent staining and swelling
- Use a soft damp cloth for daily cleaning; avoid abrasive scrubbers on laminate or Duco finishes
- Do not place hot pots directly on laminate surfaces — always use a trivet or hot mat
- Avoid harsh chemical cleaners; mild soap water works best on most finishes
- Keep the kickboard area clean and dry to prevent moisture at the base of cabinets
- Lubricate Hettich hinges and channels with silicon spray annually for smooth, quiet operation
- Ensure the chimney is used whenever cooking — steam and heat are the primary causes of laminate damage over time
Wardrobes & Storage
5 questionsHow much does a modular wardrobe cost?
A standalone modular wardrobe from Happy Living Interiors starts at ₹49,999 for a standard 2-door sliding wardrobe. Final pricing depends on the wardrobe width and height, number of shutters, shutter type (sliding vs hinged), internal fittings (drawers, loft, shelf dividers, trouser rack, pull-out units), and finish choice. We measure your bedroom on-site and provide a complete itemized quote at no charge.
Which is better — sliding wardrobe or hinged wardrobe?
Both have their advantages, and the right choice depends on your bedroom size and personal preference:
- Sliding wardrobes: Ideal for smaller bedrooms where door swing space is limited. Doors overlap so you can only fully access one half at a time. More contemporary look, usually with mirror options. Popular in Hyderabad apartments.
- Hinged (swing) wardrobes: Full access to the entire wardrobe at once — better for organisation. Require 18–24 inches of clear door swing space. More traditional look, but can be made very contemporary with profile or lacquered shutters.
What internal fittings can I get inside the wardrobe?
We offer a comprehensive range of internal wardrobe fittings — all from Hettich or Hafele:
- Adjustable shelves (most common)
- Full-length and double hanging rods
- Built-in drawer units with soft-close channels
- Trouser rack / pant hanging systems
- Accessory drawer inserts (tie, jewellery, watch organisers)
- Pull-out shoe racks
- Loft unit above the main wardrobe
- Full-length interior mirrors
- LED lighting inside the wardrobe (add-on)
Can you design a walk-in wardrobe or dressing room?
Yes — walk-in wardrobes and dedicated dressing rooms are one of our specialties, particularly for luxury villa and 4BHK apartment projects. A walk-in wardrobe includes floor-to-ceiling shelving on three sides, a central island unit (often with drawers and a seating platform), integrated lighting, a full-length mirror, and hanging sections for different garment types. We've designed these for clients across Rajapushpa Provencia, Prestige High Fields, and several luxury villa projects in Narsingi and Kokapet.
How long do modular wardrobes last and how do I maintain them?
When built with BWR/P grade plywood and quality hardware, modular wardrobes routinely last 15–20 years or more. Maintenance is minimal:
- Wipe exteriors with a soft damp cloth — avoid excess moisture
- Keep the wardrobe area well-ventilated to prevent humidity build-up
- Lubricate sliding door channels annually with silicon spray
- Adjust hinge tension if doors start to sag slightly (simple screw adjustment)
- Avoid overloading shelves beyond 15–20 kg per shelf
Materials & Quality
6 questionsWhat is the difference between BWR/P and MR grade plywood?
This is one of the most important questions to ask any interior company:
- BWR (Boiling Water Resistant/Proof) grade — the highest grade of ply. It passes a test where the bonded layers remain intact even when immersed in boiling water. Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and any area with moisture exposure. This is what Happy Living Interiors uses for all primary carcasses.
- MR (Moisture Resistant) grade — suitable for normal interior conditions with some humidity, but not prolonged moisture. Often used for secondary, non-moisture-exposed applications.
- Commercial board / particle board — the lowest grade, used by budget contractors. Not water-resistant, prone to swelling and crumbling. Should never be used in kitchens or bathrooms.
Why do you specifically use Hettich or Hafele hardware? Can I choose other brands?
Hettich and Hafele are globally recognized as the gold standard for modular furniture hardware — hinges, channels, lift systems, and pull-out mechanisms. They offer:
- Smooth, silent operation that lasts 80,000+ open-close cycles
- Soft-close technology that prevents slamming and damage
- Consistent manufacturing tolerances for precise fit
- Readily available spare parts across India
What laminate brands and collections are available?
We work with India's leading laminate brands and carry hundreds of options across textures, colours, and finishes:
- Greenlam — India's largest laminate manufacturer, excellent range of woodgrains and textures
- Merino — premium laminates with a wide palette of contemporary tones
- Royale Touché — premium textured and matte options for a modern aesthetic
- Formica — international brand, excellent colour consistency
What is veneer finish and how is it different from Duco?
Veneer finish: Real wood — a thin slice (0.5–1mm) of natural wood bonded onto the shutter surface. Gives a warm, organic, natural wood appearance that no laminate can fully replicate. Each piece has a unique grain pattern. Usually finished with a lacquer coating. Available in species like teak, walnut, oak, rosewood.
Duco / PU finish: Polyurethane paint sprayed onto an MDF or ply shutter surface, creating a perfectly smooth, contemporary look. Available in literally any colour. Can be matte, satin, or high-gloss. No natural texture — completely uniform surface.
Many luxury interiors combine both — Duco for the contemporary feel and veneer as a warm accent panel.

How do I know you won't substitute cheaper materials without telling me?
This is a legitimate concern with many interior companies — and we address it directly:
- Your final quotation states the exact brand and grade of every material — ply brand, laminate brand and collection code, hardware brand and model
- We never substitute a specified material without your written approval and a revised quotation
- You are welcome to visit our factory during production to verify materials in use
- We provide material documentation (brand invoices) on request
- Our in-house team handles everything — no sub-contractors who might cut corners independently
Do you offer eco-friendly or low-emission material options?
Yes. We offer E1-grade (low formaldehyde emission) plywood and MDF options for clients who are conscious about indoor air quality — particularly important for children's bedrooms or for clients with respiratory sensitivities. E1 grade materials meet European indoor air quality standards. Greenlam also offers anti-bacterial laminate options. Ask your designer to specify E1-grade materials in your quotation if this is important to you.
Timeline & Delivery
5 questionsHow long does a full 3BHK interior project typically take?
A standard full-home 3BHK interior project typically takes 6 to 10 weeks from design finalization and first payment. The timeline breaks down roughly as:
- Design finalization and material selection — 1–2 weeks
- Site preparation (civil, false ceiling, electrical) — 2–3 weeks (runs parallel with factory production)
- Factory production of modular units — 3–4 weeks
- Delivery and on-site installation — 1–2 weeks
- Finishing, snagging, quality check — 3–5 days
What happens if the project is delayed beyond the committed date?
We commit to a delivery date in your project agreement — and we hold to it. Over 95% of our projects are handed over on the committed date. If a delay occurs due to reasons within our control, we take accountability and compensate accordingly. If a delay is caused by external factors (society permissions, site access issues, client-initiated design changes, force majeure), we communicate proactively and agree on a revised timeline. Either way, you are never left in the dark — your Project Manager provides weekly updates throughout the project.
When does work actually start after I pay the advance?
Material ordering and factory scheduling begins immediately upon receipt of the 40% advance payment. On-site civil work (if applicable) typically begins within 3–5 working days after the advance, subject to society access permissions being in place. We will confirm the on-site start date with you in advance. The factory production of modular units begins simultaneously, ensuring no waiting time between civil work completion and installation.
Can work happen while I'm still living in the flat?
It depends on the scope of work. For projects involving civil work (demolition, heavy drilling, false ceiling in multiple rooms), we strongly recommend vacating the flat — dust, noise, and site access make it difficult to live alongside construction. For projects that are primarily modular installation with minimal civil work, it's sometimes possible to continue occupying the flat, room by room. Our Project Manager will advise you specifically based on your project scope.
Can I start the interior design process before I get possession of my flat?
Yes — and we strongly recommend it. Many clients begin the design consultation 1–3 months before possession using the builder's floor plan. This allows us to complete the 3D design, finalize materials, and have everything ready to go the moment you get the keys. Factory production of modular units can begin in parallel, meaning your home could be ready within weeks of possession rather than months. Contact us with your expected possession date and we'll plan accordingly.
Warranty & After-Sales
5 questionsWhat exactly does your 15-year warranty cover?
Our 15-year warranty covers:
- Structural integrity of all modular carcasses (ply warping, delamination, joint failure)
- Laminate peeling, bubbling, or delamination from shutters
- Hardware failure — hinges, channels, lift systems, pull-out mechanisms
- Countertop cracking or chipping not caused by physical impact
How do I make a warranty claim if something goes wrong?
Simply call or WhatsApp us at +91-98488 56000 or email info@happylivinginteriors.com with a description and photo of the issue. Our service team will assess the issue and schedule a visit within 3–5 working days. For issues clearly covered under warranty, repair or replacement is done at no charge. We don't ask clients to prove it's a manufacturing defect — if it looks like one, we treat it as one.
Do you provide support even after the warranty period ends?
Yes. Many of our clients have been with us for 10+ years and continue to reach out for minor servicing, hardware adjustments, or new room additions. Out-of-warranty service is available at a reasonable, transparent per-visit charge. We never abandon clients after handover — our Gachibowli studio is always reachable and our team remains familiar with your project from the records we maintain.
Why do some companies offer 10-year warranty and you offer 15 years? Is it the same?
No — warranty terms vary significantly between companies and are often not apples-to-apples comparisons. Key differences to ask any interior company: Does the warranty cover hardware? (Many don't.) Does it cover laminate peeling? What's the claim process? Do they have a local presence to actually honor the claim? Our 15-year warranty covers materials, hardware, and laminate — and we have a physical studio in Gachibowli that has been operating for 15+ years. We're not going anywhere.
What if I notice issues at handover during the walkthrough?
During the handover walkthrough, you and our Project Manager go through every element together — kitchen, wardrobes, TV unit, false ceiling, doors, wall work — and note any issues (called a "snag list"). All items on the snag list are resolved within 7 working days at no additional charge before final payment is collected. We do not ask for the final 10% payment until you are satisfied with the snag resolution.
Payments & Billing
5 questionsHow is the payment structured? Are there installments?
We use a 3-milestone payment structure tied to project progress:
- 40% advance — paid after design finalization and before work begins. This funds material orders and factory production.
- 50% mid-execution — paid when civil work and primary on-site carpentry are complete. This triggers modular unit dispatch from our factory.
- 10% final — paid on the day of final handover, after the quality walkthrough and snag resolution. You don't pay until you're satisfied.
Is GST included in the package prices? Do you provide GST invoices?
All our package prices are quoted inclusive of applicable GST. We are a GST-registered business and provide proper GST invoices for every payment milestone. This is important — many small contractors quote prices ex-GST or operate without GST registration. With Happy Living Interiors, every invoice you receive is a valid GST document. If you need invoices in a specific name or GSTIN for input tax credit, inform us at the contract stage.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all standard payment modes:
- Bank transfer (NEFT / RTGS / IMPS)
- UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM)
- Cheque (for larger milestone payments)
- Cash (up to limits allowed under tax regulations)
Is EMI or home loan financing available for interior projects?
Yes. Several banks and NBFCs offer personal loans and home improvement loans that can be used for interior design projects. We can provide you with the required documentation (quotation, company registration, GST certificate) to support your loan application. Many clients also use their home loan top-up facility for interior expenses — many banks allow this. Speak to your bank or contact us and we'll help you with the paperwork. EMI directly from Happy Living Interiors is not available, but we support all third-party financing applications.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellations are handled as follows:
- Before design finalization: Full refund of any advance, no deductions.
- After design finalization, before production starts: Design charges (cost of 3D renders and consultancy) are deducted; balance refunded.
- After production has begun: Material and production costs incurred up to the cancellation date are non-refundable. A detailed statement of costs is provided.

- We show you material samples — laminates, hardware, finish options — from our in-studio collection
- We can show you 3D renders from similar completed projects as reference
- You can review our project portfolio with actual before/after photographs from gated communities near you
Do you handle society permissions and NOCs for interior work?
We assist you in understanding what permissions are required by your society's management committee and help you prepare the necessary documentation (company registration, contractor ID, scope of work letter). However, the NOC application and approval is typically done by the homeowner directly with the society — we cannot apply on your behalf. Most societies in Hyderabad's gated communities have a standard contractor registration process, and we've been through it hundreds of times. Your Project Manager will guide you through exactly what's needed for your specific society.
